Inspirations Recruitment Process

How do I apply?

Submit your application via Indeed by uploading your CV and any other required documents.

You’ll receive a confirmation email acknowledging your application.

What is the recruitment process?

Step 1: Apply on Indeed

Submit your application via Indeed by uploading your CV.

Step 2: Complete the Application Form

If your application is shortlisted, you’ll be sent an application form to complete.

This form will ask for:

  • Current employment situation
  • Other relevant personal and professional details.

Step 3: Submit Additional Information

After reviewing your initial application, you may be asked to fill out another form.

This second form will request:

  • Full work history
  • Educational background
  • References

Step 4: Phone Interview/Call

If your application continues to meet the requirements, we’ll schedule a call to discuss the role further.

During the call, we will:

  • Go over the job details
  • Clarify any questions or concerns you might have
  • Gauge your interest and fit for the position

Step 5: In-Person Interview Invitation

If you’re still interested and we feel you’re a good fit, you will be invited for a face-to-face interview.

This is the next stage of the selection process, where we’ll:

  • Discuss your experience in more detail
  • Conduct a test relevant to the job role
  • Ask behavioral and situational questions to assess your skills and cultural fit

Step 6: Home Visit

If successful following the interview, we will arrange a home visit to the residential setting.

This will give you the opportunity to meet some of the children (as appropriate), the team, and see the working environment.

This helps both you and us ensure the role and environment are a good fit.

Step 7: Final Decision & Offer

After the home visit, a final decision is made.

If successful:

  • You’ll receive a formal job offer
  • Pre-employment checks will begin (e.g. references, enhanced DBS, etc.)

If unsuccessful:

  • You’ll be notified with constructive feedback

Why do I need to fill out an application form if you have my CV?

Please note that CVs are used for shortlisting purposes only. As each CV varies significantly, they often lack the specific details required for our Schedule 2 checks, which are mandated by Ofsted.

To ensure we gather all the necessary information in a consistent format, it is essential that you complete our application form in full. Incomplete forms may result in delays or your application not being considered.

We aim to respond within two weeks of receiving your application, though occasionally there may be delays.

If you’re unsure about your employment history, you can use a gov.uk tool to obtain accurate dates for up to five years of employment.

What references do I need?

We typically require references from both your current and previous employers. Additional references may be requested after reviewing your application. Please note that we cannot accept references from friends or family members.

When will you contact my references?

We will only contact your references after a conditional job offer has been made and with your permission.

Please be aware that all job offers are subject to:

  • Satisfactory references, and

  • A satisfactory enhanced DBS check for both children and adults.

Due to the nature of this role, we are required to request references from all previous employers where you worked with vulnerable people or children, including any unpaid or voluntary roles.

When will my start date be?

Your start date will be subject to a satisfactory DBS and references. A DBS can take up to 90 days in some instances so we don’t recommend you hand in your notice until we advise you to.

You will not be able to start until we have seen your DBS, and all your references have been received and verified. If you already have an enhanced DBS for children and adults AND are on the update service then we will just need to wait for your references.

Is there anything I can do to start quicker?

Yes, if your application form is completed accurately and in full, it will help us process it more quickly. Incomplete or incorrect information may lead to delays, as additional checks may be required.

Delays can also occur if the documents you provided at the interview are expired or no longer valid. Please ensure all documents are current and available for in-person verification.
